Lovejoy ISD is a top-rated school district created in 1917 and originally held in the traditional little red school house. The school district is named after Phoebe Lovejoy the wife of J. L. Lovejoy, a merchant from the North Texas region. The Lovejoy's owned land in Collin and Denton Counties. Phoebe Lovejoy promoted many educational causes in the area. LISD serves the communities of Lucas and Fairview as well as some close neighborhoods nearby. This is one of the most sought after school districts in the area.
